With the second album by her Ensemble, "Andares" (2009, Aeon), a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of standards by Astor Piazzolla, Debora Russ remains faithful to her unique and innovative take on tango. "Times and men change, but their essence lives on. Tango is still here, yet renewed, drawing from its past. It treads new paths, returns, lingers on in myths, transfigures the ancestral callings, and in the voices of the poets who honour it, expresses its sleeping soul in its verses …". An eclectic musical world where tango combines with jazz and folklores from the entire world.
