samedi 17 décembre - 21h

Dans sa chanson " Silence ", John Greaves chante " the rest is silence ".
Vincent Courtois a formé le trio " What do you mean by silence ? " avec le batteur François Merville et le jeune saxophoniste Marc Baron.
Voici la réponse de John Greaves à Vincent Courtois :
" My dear Vincent,
Silence is, in English musical terminology, a "rest"; which also means a period of repose.
I suggest that whilst a French musician might see on the stave before him a defined period of time in which to anticipate the next precise co-ordination of bodily functions required to produce a coherent physical gesture concomitant with the endeavours of his colleagues simultaneously pursing their own arcane musical and generally speaking altruistic aims, an Englishman would probably just go the bar.
Yours,
The next bar is the best bar,
Your friend,
John ".
